It's perhaps no surprise that the current economic environment is spurring more families to consider breaks closer to home this year.

Domestic tourism body VisitEngland recently revealed from its research that one in five who holidayed abroad last year, is considering a holiday in England during 2009.
This month, VisitEngland launched its £3million promotional campaign, highlighting the value of taking breaks in the country's holiday spots, with TV and national press advertising.
Cornwall can perhaps expect to benefit most from this. TripAdvisor, the world's largest online travel community, conducted a poll of more than 500 Brits, toward the end of 2008, to find out their favourite domestic holiday destinations. Cornwall was the clear winner.
"Cornwall has so much to commend it, from its wonderful coastline, fishing villages and history, to its development as a sophisticated destination with the internationally famed Eden Project, the St Ives Tate Gallery and famous chef name restaurants," said Jamie Alexander, who manages Hustyns resort, part of Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels.
Traditionally, Cornwall has had tourists' appetites whetted by such local taste treats as Cornish pasties, clotted cream teas and freshly caught seafood. "Our resort restaurants pride themselves on creative cuisine, with a Cornish flavour, using locally produced foods," said Nick Waddington, manager of another Club La Costa Cornish resort: Trenython Manor.
Club La Costa's more than 50,000 members have access to the company's three British resorts and 20 more across Europe, they can also choose to holiday at a further 200 resorts worldwide, with which it has agreements, and thousands more across the globe via its exchange partners.
Club La Costa Resorts & Hotels has 23 resorts across Europe and more than 50,000 members. For more information visit www.clublacosta.com
